Labour Disruption Concerns at Canada Post
May 13, 2025RCC is closely monitoring ongoing labour negotiations at Canada Post, with several critical deadlines approaching. The independent commission established in December to examine the causes of the last work stoppage and recommend solutions is expected to release its report on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
The current collective agreement, previously extended by Minister MacKinnon, is set to expire on May 22, 2025. If the parties are unable to reach a new agreement, there is a risk of renewed labour disruption.
RCC has been actively engaging with all stakeholders in recent weeks, urging them to work toward a resolution and consider binding arbitration if necessary. We are prepared to escalate our advocacy efforts should a disruption occur and will continue to keep members informed of any developments.
