Newly named President & CEO Kim Furlong joins RCC on September 2, 2025.

Retail Council of Canada’s (RCC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Furlong as the new President & Chief Executive Officer, effective September 2, 2025. Kim joins RCC with a distinguished career that spans over two decades at the intersection of government, industry, and advocacy—making her uniquely equipped to lead our organization into its next phase of growth.

Currently serving as CEO of the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA), Kim has established herself as a powerful advocate for Canada’s private capital sector, successfully influencing public policy and shaping the national investment landscape.

Kim’s appointment marks a return to RCC, where she previously served as Vice President of Federal Government Affairs over 16 years ago. During her tenure, she was instrumental in establishing our industry’s permanent presence in the nation’s capital and quickly became a highly effective advocate for RCC.

“Kim brings a deep expertise in public policy, stakeholder engagement, and crisis communications and we are delighted to welcome her to the organization,” said Anne Martin-Vachon, Chair of the Board of Directors, RCC. “Her leadership will drive impactful results and strengthen our mission in the years ahead.”

“We are also pleased that Diane continues to serve as President & CEO until Kim joins RCC in September,” added Martin-Vachon. “Diane’s contributions to the association and the industry have been extraordinary and her commitment to the team, the Board and the members have enabled us to ensure that RCC is widely recognized as the ‘Voice of Retail’.”
