Deadline for Compliance to Accessible Information and Communication Standard

As of May 1, 2025, the Manitoba Accessible Information and Communication Standard is now the law. Under this standard, organizations are required to update their websites and other forms of communication to address existing barriers. This requires updating websites and web content to follow globally recognized Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 standards to a minimum level AA, something RCC has pointed out is time consuming and costly for many of our members. The Standard also requires the establish of a process to ensure other information is in an accessible format, upon request.  More information is available at AccessibilityMB.ca
